Compañía de Fomento Barbareta is hiring a hands-on Head of Hospitality to lead all hospitality and service operations on a remote private island—an exceptional opportunity for an experienced operator ready to take on a unique island challenge.

Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, the Head of Hospitality is responsible for the coordination, quality, and execution of all hospitality-related operations on Barbareta Island. This role ensures smooth daily functioning for approximately 150 staff while delivering a high-standard hospitality experience for visiting guests, including island ownership.

This role manages three core operational areas:
1. Human Resources, housekeeping, and basic internal maintenance coordination
2. Kitchen operations serving three meals daily to approximately 150 people.
3. All guest-facing hospitality, including island setup, bar stocking, menu coordination, table settings, décor, and guest relations for visiting owners and guests.

Core Responsibilities

A. Human Resources & Administration
• Oversee daily HR administration (attendance, scheduling, staff coordination)
• Supervise housekeeping standards across staff and guest areas
• Manage basic internal maintenance; escalate larger maintenance jobs
• Ensure staff accommodations and common areas meet cleanliness and functionality standards
• Support onboarding and supervision of staff
• Promote a positive and respectful workplace culture

B. Kitchen Operations
• Oversee kitchen operations providing three meals daily to +/- 150 people
• Coordinate food ordering and transport logistics from Roatán
• Support menu planning with the Chef, balancing nutrition, cost, and availability
• Ensure hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards
• Coordinate special meal service for visiting owners and guests

C. Guest & Island Hospitality
• Lead island setup and readiness for visiting guests
• Oversee bar stocking, food ordering, menus, table settings, décor, and flower arrangements
• Manage guest relations and hospitality standards
• Coordinate closely with the Chef during guest visits

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Operations
• Compliance with housekeeping and cleanliness standards
• Zero disruption to daily meal service
• Timely referral and resolution of maintenance issues

Inventory & Cost Control
• Inventory variance within agreed thresholds
• Minimal food and beverage wastage
• No critical stock-outs

Staff Management
• Stable staffing levels and low absenteeism
• Clear duty rosters and task completion
• Positive feedback from staff and management

Guest Experience
• Guest areas fully prepared ahead of arrivals
• Consistently high presentation standards
• Positive feedback from owners and visitors

Key Requirements
• Comfortable living and working full-time on a remote island.
• Spanish–English bilingual (required).
• Proven experience in hospitality, lodge management, or general services operations (5+ years, 3+ leading teams).
• Strong leadership, logistics, and decision-making skills.
• Solid knowledge of hospitality operations management and KPI monitoring.
• Service orientated, proactive mindset.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Tourism, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
